Scrim glassless mirrors—sometimes referred to as see-through mirrors—function similarly to theatrical scrims, allowing controlled transparency based on lighting conditions.

When the area behind the mirror is illuminated, imagery or motion behind the surface becomes visible, creating a dramatic “bleed-through” effect. When the rear area is dark, the mirror functions as a reflective surface from the front.
