Misleading ASTM Fire Ratings. THE TRUTH.
Mirrorlite® Glassless Mirrors are independently tested and deemed fire resistant by Underwriter Laboratories(UL) a highly recognized and respected independent product safety testing laboratory.
The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) does not independently test for fire resistance. Here is a link and direct quote from their official website.

“Does ASTM provide testing services?
ASTM does not have any testing facilities to accommodate requests for one-off testing of products. An organization which desires to have their product tested for conformance to an ASTM standard could do the required testing in their own laboratory or contract the services of an independent third party laboratory. The Lab Directory and the Organizations that Accredit Laboratories to ISO 17025 on the ASTM website may be helpful. Note: ASTM has not attempted to investigate, rate, endorse, approve or certify any laboratory listed in the directory. Each laboratory has paid ASTM a fee for their listing.”

Important:
Mirrorlite® Glassless Mirrors are UL – fire retardant – rated for safety. Imitation glassless mirrors that do not have such ratings should not be placed in public facilities, as they present a potential fire hazard.
