Beware Of Imitations

Real Mirrorlite® vs. Imitation

To ensure you’re getting a genuine Mirrorlite® product, always look for the UL® symbol after the Mirrorlite® brand name. Glassless Mirror is the trusted source for premium quality front surface film mirrors that are manufactured in a state-of-the-art production facility by skilled engineers and workers with over 143 years of combined industry experience.

The Mirrorlite® is an art form in itself, created through a combination of expertise, proper tooling, and high-quality materials. On the other hand, imitation front surface mirrors are produced using low-cost, inferior materials, substandard tooling, and manufacturing techniques. They are often hand cut and pieced together, unlike the Mirrorlite® brand, which is made as a one-piece extrusion, resulting in a stronger and more rigid design that eliminates warping and image distortion.

Mirrorlite® brand mirrors are UL-approved for safety and meet military specifications, ensuring their quality and reliability. Inexpensive imitation front surface film mirrors are often advertised at a lower price than the manufacturer’s advertised price for comparably sized mirror panels. However, if the advertised price seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Don’t be deceived by a cheap imitation. Stick with the authentic Mirrorlite® brand for superior quality and performance.

Mirrorlite Glassless Mirror Underwriter Laboratories Fire Rated

It’s important to note that the Mirrorlite® mirror is UL-rated for safety as a fire-retardant product. Imitation non-glass mirrors that lack such ratings should not be used in public facilities as they pose a potential fire hazard.

To ensure authenticity, genuine Mirrorlite® mirrors display the Mirrorlite® brand label on the backside. If you have doubts about a purchase made from another source, email info@glasslessmirror.com with images for assistance.

It’s crucial to understand that ASTM International, previously known as the American Society for Testing and Materials, does not independently test or certify materials as fire-retardant. Only independent, not-for-profit product safety testing and certification organizations such as Underwriter Laboratories (UL) can certify products for public safety. It important to note that an E84 Class A rating, indicates the product possess the lowest fire spread rate and produce minimal smoke and does not guarantee the product has undergone comprehensive testing. In certain instances, only specific components have been subjected to testing.

This means that the Mirrorlite® mirror has undergone independent testing and certification for public safety by Underwriter Laboratories (UL). Non-glass mirrors claiming an ASTM E Class 84 A (Class 1) Fire Rating are not guaranteed safe and may present a potential fire hazard.

Genuine Mirrorlite® mirrors should not be confused with inexpensive acrylic and plastic mirror products commonly advertised in the market. These mirrors are usually thin and lack rigidity, causing high levels of “fun house” distortion.

It’s worth noting that the Mirrorlite® mirror is proudly designed, manufactured, and assembled in the USA!
